International Thespian Festival 2020 Trip Info.:

What an exciting opportunity! Arnold’s Thespians under the leadership of our troupe’s 2020 presidents, Jeyna and Andrew, have been dreaming about attending the International Thespian Festival in Indiana, which is the next step after District and State. No school in Bay County has ever been able to attend before, as troupes must qualify and be able to afford the long trip. With that in mind, we applied for and won a $10,000 grant to attend the International Thespian Festival this summer! Students from Arnold will get to attend at a seriously discounted rate due to this grant. Here is important information that students and parents need to know about this opportunity.

There will be a student/parent meeting to discuss the trip at 6pm on March 26th in room 3-118 at Arnold. This agreement form and $150 are due no later than this meeting to secure a student’s spot to attend.

Festival Information:

  • The festival is June 22-27, 2020 on the campus of Indiana University Bloomington.
  • We plan to depart likely June 21st and return likely June 28th/29th (pending finalized transportation plan).
  • International Festival includes a myriad of activities and opportunities for students to participate in and experience including:
    • professional workshops in tech and performance
    • top quality performances by students from all over the U.S. and beyond
    • performance and competition opportunities
    • college/scholarship auditions

Trip Cost: $600 (or less) per student $1600 (or less) per parent

    • Cost includes:
      • Transportation
      • Dorm accommodations Monday night through Saturday night
      • Meals: Monday dinner through Sunday breakfast (must bring $ for additional meals while traveling)
      • Festival registration: t-shirt, admittance to shows, workshops, activities,…
    • Once we know who is attending the festival. we will be able to price travel expenses and finalize a total cost which will be no more than $600 per student; this will likely be less depending on how many students make the commitment to attend.
    • Students going to ITF are required to participate by volunteering for at least 6 tech events from now until the trip (there are 12+ already scheduled), as auditorium tech scholarships will help to offset the cost of the trip to keep it at $600 or less per student. Students who do not meet this requirement will have an increased final payment amount.
    • Students are STRONGLY encouraged to seek business, community, and family/friends sponsorships to help cover the cost of this trip! These sponsors will go in both this year and next year’s show programs.
    • Students who have past due fees for shows/trips must finish handling those fees by March 26th, or they will not be registered for ITF.
    • Parents are invited but not required to travel with us at a rate of ~$1600 per person (single room). We will be able to finalize the parent travel total, which may be lower, once we know how many people have committed to attend.

  • ITF trip fee due dates:

    • March 26th $150 per student, $600 per parent
    • April 30 $150 per student, $600 per parent
