The Miracle Worker tells the story of the child Helen Keller who is deaf, blind, and mute and her teacher Annie Sullivan, who is partially blind herself. Helen is wild and animal like, as she cannot process the world around her, that is until her parents hire the young Annie to teach their daughter to communicate or at least behave in the world. Annie proceeds to open up the mind of what later becomes one of the most important historical figures and human rights activists in American history. Together they tell the powerful story of what it means to share language and rise above adversity. You don’t want to miss experiencing this powerful story live on stage.
The show is appropriate for all ages though it may be slow moving for children seven and under.
The Miracle Worker has a running time of about an hour and forty five minutes.
